In Canada, it is tough for any professionally skilled immigrant to find work in their field of work and also to earn enough money to maintain a decent life. If we want to enhance our rights and freedoms in Canada it is time we act to get the world to recognise what is going on and that desperate measures must be taken to protect our rights. We deserve to work in our professions just any Canadian born citizen does. The solution to this comes in two ways; one to start an association and the second is to get supporters to sign a petition.
Immigration Canada Scam, Not Canada.com, and the Yahoo group, Canada2America have teamed up to start this nonprofit group. The Association of Professionally Skilled Immigrants (APSI- Canada) will be set up to voice the concerns of people who are skilled immigrant professionals. The association will be based on social and humanitarian principals plus the rights of an individual as per the United Nations Charter. Practically, we will be dealing with immigration, labour relations, and many more areas constructively, lobbying for change, getting government to implement policy changes that stress integrity, respect, partnership, fairness and community interaction.
The next step is to sign two separate petitions, (the reason beginning the format varies). One petition will be read in the House of Parliament and the second petition will be send to the United Nations.
This topic is open for discussion. Give us your thoughts and suggestions. This Association will have a different outlook and approach, it will be for the benefit of the Professionally Skilled Immigrants therefore every feedback will be of value. As progress is made we will keep you informed.
